This is really odd issue that is not apparent in ubuntu 7.10.
Ever since I first tried out kubuntu 8.10 I noticed that there is a mouse

I also get cdrom0 instead of showing dvd's name
I deleted /media/cdrom and symlinks + removed cdrom stuff from
/etc/fstab and now I see dvdrecorder in media and dvdrecord icon in
desktop whenever I insert data cd or data dvd into dvd dual drive
what I would like to see is actually name of the dvd

This is strange bug. All I see in my xsessionerrors file that could be relevant
is:

Since it's much more cryptic (for me) to edit udev rules described @

Configuration with udev (Ubuntu 10.04) - then I decided to use xinput:

In Ubuntu 10.04 creating /etc/modprobe.d/options.conf does not work and
I have to edit xorg.conf itself:
