I wrote a small document in abiword, which contains much complicated html
copied from a website.
This was exported in .doc format. Openoffice.org on the same machine (latest
update, from ubuntu repo)
can't read that file! Moreover, when the file

Intrepid beta (8.10) on a HP Pavillion notebook dv6921a Notebook with AMD
Turion64x2, but installing 32 bit os. At the very end of the upgrade process,

Yes. I made a bootable pendrive from the liveCD image (with unetbootin), and
tried to boot from that. It gave the same error messages.
The lspci output was made after reinstalling 8.04
That shouldń change anything! i hope.

I have not had any installation problems with karmic (neither 9.04 or 9.10)
on the exact same computer.

I just (with ubuntu 9.10) deinstalled debsecan, and then reinstalled
it, and now there were no problems!

the applet lxkeymap, on the preferences menu of Lubuntu, does not start
when choosen from the menu line. When started from the commandline it
crashes immeadieately, on start, with the following output in the

I tried this on my norwegian Lubuntu machine today, with all updates
