1) I patched glib2.0 to resolve the 2nd monitor operational problems.

I applied the patch and got mixed results.
Some launches opened in the correct screen while other did not.
Example Firefox open in the correct screen while System/Shutdown… does
not.
I am using Ubuntu 8.10 amd64.

libmarble4 is for a KDE educational program.
This "upgrade"did not fail because a library for an education program
failed. It is more likely due to kernel-module-xorg-nvidia issues.
A subsequent attempt to install did not have the libmarble4 error.

After upgrade to 10.4 from 9,10 online, consoles (Alt-F2,…) were
unusable. The video display was corrupted.
Also the console during boot was corrupted.
This is a show stopper. System was restored to state prior to
"upgrade."
System:

Restored pre-update system, updated using alt CD, no download of
"updates" from repositories.

It is not right that an in-place distribution upgrade leave a system

Managed to get mouse and keyboard back by adding this to the
/etc/X11/xorg.conf file:
Option "AllowEmptyInput" "0"
in Section "ServerFlags"
I expected this to fail x server and drop me to a prompt, but what
happened is mouse and keyboard now functional.
