I upgraded to Ubuntu-9.04 before I could test this again sorry. I did a clean
install and enabled the nvidia-glx-180 driver without any of the side effects I
encountered previously. I think it's fair to say that this was just an anomaly
with my system and the bug can be marked as invalid.
Cheers
I have been noticing the same issue since I shifted to a fresh install of Hardy.
I notice the issue ONLY if:
I have not set a Global Address List server name in the Exchange preferences AND
Autocomplete is ticked for Global Address List.
It seems it is trying to frantically to contact a GAL server

Yip, I found Ubuntu's support for questionably bleeding edge software
supprisingly good too. Just look at compiz and usplash when they first
came to light.
I'd just put this one down to a bug.
Good to see it fixed in the current Gutsy kernel now.
Cheers guys.

So how do we go about getting this fixed then?
I can confirm that the above change mentioned by saresca is all that I need to
do before compiling kernel modules to get the module I need. I do not know
where to start in making a patch for the kernel package though.
The module is about 4.0k after c

I have also had to add and export PPP_IFACE line /etc/ppp/ip-down.d/0clampmss
as it was just removing the first line it found that contained clamp.
My resulting edited file looks like:

Is anybody still having trouble with this?
The only two files I needed to change were:
append to > /etc/xen-tools/xm.tmpl

append to > /usr/lib/xen-tools/gutsy.d/15-disable-hwclock
rm -f ${prefix}/etc/init.d/hwclock.sh ${prefix}/etc/init.d/hwclockfirst.sh
Is it possible to get this enabled in Gutsy Gibbon and future revisions of the
kernel?

I might also add that I am seeing the same thing with the nouveau driver and
