well, mail was not working, obviously.
Running without addons did not work. Same result. But cleaning the home
directory did help. Some other malfunctions dissapeared, too.
So this is no bug and can be closed for it is an configuration problem -
obviously.

I have the same problem on Toshiba NB100 running Ubuntu remix hardy. The
battery drains while the netbook is completely shut down. It takes
around 5 days for the battery to be flat while shutdown.

but it would be - indeed - a good idea to implement it. It seems to me
that this is an issue for many people. And I think solving this is
important for making ubuntu presentable to the broad mass and therefore
fixing bug #1.

I am having the same problem,
I updated from feisty to gusty and had a 30 sec load time from login to
desktop. I disabled bluetooth and that did nothing. I also was using compiz.
I then did a clean install and have the same problem. still using compiz.

Just want to add, that it is only crashing when trying to do a search
for a program under "All" and "sound&video" all the rest of the search
options like "internet, office, other" etc seem to be ok.

I am also have this problem with Hardy as well. When trying to access
terminal it is changing to a black screen for a sec or two, then
returning to desktop.

I am sorry that I forgot to cancel the "bug" - the missing of that option is
caused by the missing of the kde-extras-package.
