Another data point - this flicker issue is happening for me (running an
updated 9.04) on a Thinkpad T60p with an ATI FireGL V5250 graphics card
when it's connected to a 1680x1050 Dell 2209WA external display. There
seem to be vertical regions that run the height of the screen, about
10-20 pixels a
Still present in 8.04 final release. There hasn't been any activity
upstream wrt this bug since February of 2008. While it may have low
importance, it is a rather annoying UI bug if you're used to this
feature working normally and use it frequently. Here's hoping there's
someone who knows the code
