Had the same problem with Jaunty. Ended up replacing:
iface eth0 inet manual
to
iface eth0 inet dhcp
in /etc/network/interfaces and that seemed to have solved the issue for me. I'm
sharing this here since I haven't seen this solution provided anywhere else.

I see many comments stating that agreeing to a EULA is no big deal
because Windows has tons of those.
Personally, I use Ubuntu for many reasons, including the fact that it's
_free_ (speech) and it's _not_ Windows. A Windows user may be
accustomed and even comfortable with EULAs, but I fail to see
If branding is an issue, use IceWeasel and label it 'Web Browser' or
'Surf the Web' in the Applications menu. Append the name IceWeasel to
the label, and I'm willing to bet that in a year or two, most users will

does not make Firefox any less free."
I would be curious to hear from the horse's mouth why the EULA was added

Iceweasel and ABrowser are Firefox(TM) minus the branding. The only
thing you loose is an unwelcomed EULA.
On the other hand, not using the Firefox(TM) Trademark,

I strongly disagree with that statement. It's true that disks will get
larger, but so will user files.

Hey Harald,
I'll sign up for you next workshop. Sorry for the tone. I guess I was a
bit frustrated that the bug has gone unloved for so long.

Encountered the same problem. Even the logs are silent. I'm an

problem was.
I've ran out of disk space in GDM/Gnome before, and it continued to
function.

Same problem here. Removed ttf-georgewilliams and the ugly monospace
font went away. That font invaded not just my terminal, but Firefox and
Thunderbird as well.
