I'm having the same issue with the problem only occurring under the
2.6.27 kernel. Hardy on the same box does NOT display this problem.
Both releases of 2.6.27 in Intrepid (-7 and -9) are exhibiting this
problem on my PC.

Sadly, 2.6.27-11 met the same fate today after several days of use and
is now actually worse. I consistently fail to boot and don't even make
it past the splash screen anymore. Back to 2.6.24-21 (where I write
this) which is rock solid.

The original poster's problem affects me (exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x0
SErr 0x0 action 0x6 frozen). As with the original report, I have no
trouble in 2.6.24-21 however 2.6.26-x is completely unusable as my
freezes do not resolve. My only solution is a hard reboot.

nForce chipset but rather a Highpoint 37x RAID controller and a VIA
chipset and with IDE HDDs instead of SATA) and this makes 2.6.27-5+
