a long list of dependancies is produced, including the various openjdk
binaries/source.

I may not have explained the problem properly.
When trying to install netbeans using synaptic, a long list of other
programs and libraries are installed as well. These are:
libappframework-java
libbeansbinding-java
libini4j-java
libnb-apisupport-java
libnb-id
Ahhh, rightio.
How do we go about doing that?
