Yes, There is no floppy drive on my PC, even if the floppy icon is
anyway displayed in Nautilus resources (this on both 09.10 and 10.04b1
Ubuntu releases).

Some more information from my side.
My webcam is external, connected via USB; it has a LED which is activated when
the device is operating.
During Ubuntu boot (when the Ubuntu logo is shown, with progress bar on purple
background) the LED is on, as it was with 11.04.
