I can confirm that contrast between window background and buttons draws
strongly user attention. If that was intentionally, please consider
using lighter colour inside buttons while leaving darker outline.

Me too. For example Close button is probably the most widely used button

I dont undertsand entirely what happened here but I had 8.10 beta and
had been upgrading as I went. I have now re-installed from 8.10 final
and got mythtv working fine.

With regard to the "infinite loop" phenomenon, I have no card readers on
my machine, but an empty virtual CD drive provided by Daemon Tools. The
loop sent me through the message dozens of times rather than three
times. The same thing happens if my actual DVD drive is empty.

WORKAROUND:
Downloaded wubi.exe from the website to a brand new Windows XP install.
Had DAEMONTools installed. Mounting any image in the DAEMONTools drive
caused the "Please insert disk in drive..." error message to go away.
Unmounting image caused error message to return.

I had the same problem and while the solution posted by mgm eventually
helped me to find and fix my problem, it may be a bit terse for some.
To spell out what I did to fix this problem in more detail:
I looked in /usr/local/lib and found some old Gnucash libraries:
ls -al /usr/local/lib/libgnc-*
This problem started for me immediately after an update from 11.04 to
11.10. After the OS Upgrade, Gnucash simply stopped working. No error
messages or anything, it just wouldn't work.
Fortunately, I had the skills to try starting it in a terminal console,
see the error message there, google it
This was posted automatically when the install process crashed. It
asked me for the log but said it would include the user password, so I
declined. Where do I find the install log? I could edit it to
obfuscate the password.

Trying to install fresh 13.04 onto a machine with a 128G SSD and 2 x 1TB
HDD in hardware RAID0. I'm trying to get the OS onto LVM partitions on
the SSD (just using the generic LVM install from the checkbox on the
relevant dialog in the Install Wizard) and plan to use the HDDs
