I don't know, since I never installed ubuntu feisty, just Edgy. I was
about considering trying ubuntu dapper, since after reading on several
forums that certain things simply worked much better on dapper (eg
wireless, xgl/compiz, etc...). However, I have no first hand information
to confirm that ei
that either.
The only things I can confirm are those related to Edgy.

I also feel that it is important to note that I followed the
instructions for installation from the following address (ubuntu
community docs), using method A for startup of XGL/compiz for intel
graphics.

XGL crash Ubuntu Edgy Dell E1505 I
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: xserver-xgl
crash happens with both "i810" standard X11 driver and "intel" mesa 3D
driver provided with ubuntu repositories/via intel. When attempting to
launch compiz on dell E1505 laptop running ubuntu Edgy, Xgl just crashes
and returns to login screen.
