After fiddling around with "hdajackretask" i managed to map the pin 0x18
(in my case) to a speaker output and its visible now in the sound
manager.

I have a rocketraid 1520 and after upgrading to intrepid the card also
stopped working. Both pata_hpt37x pata_hpt366 do nothing. I'm still
running linux-image-2.6.24-19-server from hardy now, since this seems

after a while, and I can't figure out why. I installed the rhythmbox
debug package and let it crash again, I also ran the valgrind program
again, but again it doesn't crash (I left it running for 45 minutes or

I tried it with, valgrind. It runs very slow (choppy audio), but it doesn't
crash somehow! After running with valgrind I tried it without, and rhytmbox
_does_ crash.
By the way; when I run rhythmbox in the console, I get this output:

I also have this problem. My (ide) hd was /dev/hda, is now /dev/sda. My

I can confirm this bug in 9.10 , apperently it is only with certain
revisions/brands using this chip as I've seen people succesfully using this
card in 9.10, with the modules disabled (actually renamed) the machine boots

I installed Ubuntu 12.04 on my desktop computer.
On it is a GPT formatted disk with Windows 7 allready installed.
The disk layout contains 1 EFI partition, 2 windows partitions (hidden and
normal) and 3 linux partitions (root, home and swap)

into the right channels.
This is a big shame and it shows the utter lack of quality control in

Confirmed. Also on the ("new") HP Elitebook 850 G2 w/ HP Ultraslim
Docking Station 2013.
However after fiddling around with hdajacksensetest and hdajackretask
it got it work but after a reboot settings are gone and im missing audio
again.

when using apt-get or aptitude. I've disabled all sources except for the
main archive, but I still get this message. I also get it for all
mirrors I tried (US, NL).
