i have a similar problem with a Kodak DX 7590. Digikam can detect the
camera successfully, but can not show previews of the images (exactly
there are previews, but they are all broken) and cannot download any
images.
It is impossible to access the images in konqueror too. So the only

I can confirm this too. On my Laptop Apple Powerbook Pismo it runs every
couple of seconds und the Laptop is very slow. When i kill apt-index-
watcher performance is ok!

I have tested my Kodak cam in edgy eft. Since in edgy there is a newer
version of libgphoto2 everything works fine. If the original poster can
verify this for his camera maybe someone can close this issue.
