After disabling hardware scanning, I believe this issue has gone away
for me. If others can confirm whether the following fix works for them

handling sleep and resume scripts. As well, it is setting a "laptop-
mode" hard-drive state via settings in /usr/lib/pm-utils/power.d/laptop-

Intel was insisting that the two cores cannot be set independently of

the Flash plugin seems to print to whatever printer is set as the system
default, and ignores the actual printer select menu.
changing the default printer to cups-pdf allows printing to PDF file,
but then doesn't allow printing to any other installed printers.

I experienced this bug today, with the original FOSS pxlmono driver.
I recommend installing and using the Brother drivers -- I did so and the
printer works flawlessly through the network with it. No more
"hiccups." Very nice. If you do it, be sure to follow ALL the
