Binary package hint: update-manager
The update manager, while performing an Kubuntu upgrade from hardy to
intrepid, reported an error as follows:
Could not install '/var/cache/apt/archives/tspc_2.1.1-6.1ubuntu1_amd64.deb'
The upgrade will continue but the

Cheese also doesn't show any output (and tends to freeze when trying to close
it) on my Dell Studio 15 now on Intrepid; used to work fine on Hardy.
xawtv shows output, but tends to freeze when I close it, skype works, and vlc

I just realized if I open Cheese Preferences and change the resolution
to either 160x120 or 176x144. Then I have to kill Cheese because it
freezes when I change the resolution. After that, I ran 'sudo modprobe
-r uvcvideo' and 'sudo modprobe uvcvideo' to reload the module as I saw

you are providing a full path.
It might be nice to also check to see if the script is executable and

vmbuilder EC2: Check postinstall scr
I'm having a similar problem and I'm quite certain it is not a file
system problem (fsck is happy). I think there is something wrong with
the pre/post installation scripts for the gnome-games-data package.
Here is the output from an attempt to install the package:

Based on a year of building and running Ubuntu images on EC2, the

Of course I meant "def" instead of "sub" in the bug title. Sure I used
to program for a living in C, C++, Objective C, and many other languages
back in the day, but it has been Perl for the last 15 years, so bear
with me.

Public bug reported:
The way that the EC2 plugin is currently designed, the post_install
portion wants to apt-get install openssh-server which attempts to
restart sshd and fails.
It would be nice if the post_install plugins were called before
"unprevent_daemons_starting" was invoked (currently in

Not sure if this is related but I'm also having issues with CIFS. I can
mount the storage just fine but sometimes if I try accessing the mounted
CIFS share my system locks. Also when I am able to access the CIFS
