I believe I have the same issue in 16.04. But often, when copying files,
disk-activity stops. I expect a notification, but there is none. So I
minimise each window, looking for it, nothing. Then I have found that by
switching to my nautilus file browser windows and then resizing them
with ctrl+cmd+
I also have the same problem with my Asus X550L. Speakers work, internal
microphone is useless-quiet. Alsamixer has microphone turned on and at
81%, no boost. Auto mute is disabled.
Using headphones with a built in microphone I get a good recording with
plenty of volume.

the extension. Deleting the extension and only selecting the required
file type is successful, but tedious.

This bug just caused me to loose hundreds of old photos when I deleted a
subfolder that I had previously checked as being duplicates, but it had
somehow been filled with photos I wanted when it opened unexpectedly. I
cannot get these photos back.
Please update the number of people being effected f
