After some troubles (new kernel 2.6.3x won't install, initrd files are not
generated, grub menu aren't updated, old kernel 2.6.28 doesn't work with new
packages from new distribution) I finally ended the installation of Ubuntu
10.04 LTS.
I had to boot the 2.6.28 in recover mode, manually update

I followed the instruction for retrieving the backtrace.
The problem is that, when launched via gdb, the program exit normally, no crash
happen.
The screen saver crash in random manner. How to catch the right moment?

as I remember I only installed "final" packages from packages manager.
Out of them, Seamonkey 2 and OpenOffice 3.2 was installed with provided builtin
installer on the old Ubuntu 9.10.
I also cleaned the installed packages with:
# apt-get autoremove
before and after the distribution upgrade.

Then was asked to test the newly released upstream kernel 3.11.0, done.
