I got the following response. I tried fiddling around with dpkg --
help and dpkg --force-help but dont seem to find the solution. Maybe
you have more pointers. Help will be appreciated..

This was submitted quite a while ago. I found a workaround. The problem
is just that I cannot remember what it was. I also removed that specific
Ubuntu installation a while ago.
