I couldn't comment.
On 8.04 I'm using not using the packaged version; grabbed the 3.3.2 tarball
from the Eclipse site.
With CDT 4.0.0 and Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_07-b06) this is
no longer an issue.
