Got no sound after 10.04 => 10.10 upgrade on Acer Aspire 7730G.
After adding:
alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
options snd-hda-intel model=auto
to my alsa-base.conf everything is back to normal.
Makes me wonder how and why these things happen...

XMODIFIERS='' works, but come on...no one tried to fix this in two

Any why is this low priority? It makes an incredible IDE completely
