Public bug reported: System freezes. I can hear sounds when amarok is playing and move cursor, but mouse buttons and keyboard don't response. It's very annoying. I am working 15 minutes, and system freeze. Hard restart, working 20 minutes and system freeze again:/ System: Ubuntu 8.04 ** Affects:

I installed Hardy 2 days ago and I have these problems since this time. About 30 minutes ago new actualizations appeared(including Xorg, X11-common, etc.). I actualized system. Now I am waiting and looking forward to what will be going on. -- system freezes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/230890

I think I know what is the cause of these freezes - desktop effects. I haven't such problems when I disabled desktop effects. It took few minutes to system freeze after that, when I desktop effects enabled. This is link to bug, which connects desktop effects and system freezes: https://bugs.launch

The same problem - buttons not responding - with Eclipse (downloaded from eclipse.org) and Vuze (Azureus) 4.2.0.8. In Vuze the problem appears for example when I'm trying to press button 'OK' in update pop- up window - to solve that, I have to press enter on activated button. In Eclipse works GDK_
