I don't really know if alsa-driver is the package that causes the error
- it could also be kmix or something else in kde or sound packages, but
first the description:
I installed a kubuntu 7.04 "feisty fawn" with /boot on /dev/sda5, /swap
on /dev/sda6, / on /dev/sda7 and

That is the solution - I just added myself to audio group, and sound
works! :-)

I use Kubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn and just installed kxdocker from the ubuntu
universe-repos.
But if I want to start kxdocker, I get these error-messages and kxdocker
doesn't start:
KXDocker Will use Composite Extensions!
X Error: BadDevice, inva
I also use the feisty herd 3 live-cd. After the bootsplash I don't get a messed
up image, but the screen is black instead of the desktop.
There is just a little line like in a Terminal blinking in the top-left corner
of the black screen.
The system reboots if I press Strg+Alt+Enter.

hm... I just checked the same CD I had the problem with, but there were
no (0) checksum failures...

I just installed ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx and now I'm configuring
Firefox. I told Firefox not to accept cookies, but some sites need
cookies to work correctly (like launchpad). So I have to add exceptions
for sites which are allowed to store cookie

Just did a "sudo apt-get install plymouth-theme-ubuntu-logo", and the
boot splash-screen appeared again :-)
So it seems that this package was removed (whyever) when I did the first
update after installation, because the boot-splash-screen was there when
I bootet the system for the first time.
