The default kernel (as of 2.6.31-14.47) also disassociates repeatedly for me, using wicd, on the CMU network (it doesn't do it at home though). With linux-backports-modules-karmic it seems to work pretty smoothly - I was unable to completely run "apt-get update" before, now it works... Likewise,
