Yes, I am also still affected by the bug. Maybe it isn't caused by high
cpu usage, I'll have to check that again. Maybe it is caused by the open
source radeon driver.

I've got a high-end system and for me usplash also takes up the most
time it seems. Two splashes is a bad thing.

partition is ext3 or ext4 and I tried several different parition

Yeah you need ext4 for /boot still (dunno if that will change in the
Maverick cycle), but other than that btrfs for / works fine now with
today's daily ISO and therefore will work with alpha 3.
