Apparently my Gmail account was hacked into recently, so I ended up send off
all sorts of strange messages. Not sure what happened, but want to let
everyone know that I am aware of it and am working to lock the account down.
Clearly, Gmail is not very secure...

I concur with Aleksey1977, I am using an Averatec 3200, Broadcom
chipset, same exact problem, can login via command line, but startx is a
no go. 32 Bit 8.04 beta is used here. So it is safe to say confirmed by
another Averatec owner.

Just to print a PDF file, I have to print to file, then convert this to
JPG in GIMP. Horrible work-a-round, but it works I guess. Hopefully this
is fixed soon as most people are not going to mess with this I doubt.
Found this bug to be an issue in both Evince and even in the proprietary
app, Adobe
Meant to add, the ^above^ was on Ubuntu 10.10 as well.
