In .5.98.1. Pass any string to OpenSearch plugin with a ' in it, chaos
unfolds. The user sees nothing, no search, no error message. Stderr
tells a different story.

It has to do with DBUS oddities, and I believe there is a rather simple
fix in someone's head which is already implemented or on the way.

with the latest Opensearch plugin for gnome-do, and was originally filed
under "do-plugins."

Dan (and anyone else who might encounter this bug),
This issue is caused by Nvidia's proprietary driver, if you switch the
hue settings in Totem (or gstreamer) from minimum to maximum you'll get
normal playback again. Unfortuantely, this doesn't change the issue
with usplash.

I have also run into this problem in Hardy with proprietary Nvidia
drivers (Quadro 570 in my case). Uninstalling Totem stopped it from
happening to video, but the effect also shows up on usplash when I shut
down (at boot up usplash is unaffected).
