Binary package hint: pidgin
Pidgin doesn't check if there are any conference rooms available at all
nor if any room is selected when the user attempts. In case when the
user doesn't select any room, pidgin crashes. The error message printed
to stdout is 'Segmentation fault.'

I confirm that and personally find it extremely unhandy/impractical and
irritating. Please fix it.

Well, can't tell about forever - don't have that much time ;-) - but it does
seem like it could stay at 100% forever.

This problem still exists in pidgin. Moreover, if you move the pointer
around on several icons, the emoticon window and the whole pidgin
becomes unresponsive.

The RSS reader plugin launches several 'tasks' for fetching RSS feeds
(visible on evolution's status bar). The actual number of such tasks
varies and depends on how long evolution has been running for. The
network timeout that can be configured

I'd expect the plugin to honour the timeout setting and not attempt to
fetch the feeds when there's already another thread doing that.

Binary package hint: rhythmbox
CPU usage rises to 100% (one core fully occupied) for Rhythmbox, with or
without crossfading enabled. When I stop the playing, the CPU usage
comes back to normal, but then when I re-play it, it's again 100%. I
have to restart the app to get it w
This seems to be fixed in 9.10.
Although I can't modify the volume now if the sound is muted: trying to
decrease it has no effect, and increasing only unmutes the sound. One
might expect it to be possible to increase/decrease the volume while the
sound is still muted.

Sorry if I sound arrogant, but I don't quite approve disregarding this bug
report, explaining that 'it's not a bug, it's a feature.'
Regardless of whether it was a deliberate decision or an accident that alltray
works in such a way now, it doesn't change the fact the users find it confusing
and
I confirm the bug still occurs in Karmic.

Well, it is reproducible in the way that it re-occurs unfortunately -
it's not like it's happened once or twice. How to recreate the bug? All
I have to do is just play some mp3's. However, I seem to have no
influence on when it goes to 100% on cpu. I think it usually happens
