I found out that although network-manager doesn't show my wireless
network connected and states "device unmanaged", it is actually working.

This bug has reappeared for me in Intrepid Beta since I updated today
10/10/08. It doesn't exhibit the long boot up time associated with the
previous bug. However, Intrepid doesn't detect the wireless card and
rather states in network-manager that "device is unmanaged".

Kaltsi and Andrei: As mentioned above, the nvidia driver doesn't build
with your kernel. You will first have to move the nvidia-common file to
a temporary location before installing the kernel headers and image.
Don't forget to move it back after installation before reboot. Use the
commands before
Manjo, I tried your kernel packages. The good news is they worked. I
didn't get any timeout messages or freezes at boot time. The bad news is
I couldn't get Virtualbox to work on it or compile the module for this
kernel (something about kernel version, etc. not being set).

Hi again, earlier on, before trying out your kernel packages I upgraded
my kernel to the latest ubuntu release "2.6.28-13-generic #44-Ubuntu SMP
Tue Jun 2 07:55:09 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux". That still kept on giving
me the ath5k floor calibration and timeout error.
However, after installing Mano
I can confirm that after upgrading today (27/02/10) and rebooting at least 3
times, the error/halt did not occur. The problem seems to have been rectified
in the latest plymouth update.

Hi, I think I have a similar bug to report. Please let me know if this
bug report is supposed to be elsewhere.
I updated lucid with the latest updates today 26/04/10. Before that, I
was running a vanilla kernel of 2.6.34-rc5 without any custom patches.
This worked well until the upgrade. Now I get
The problem seems to exist in karmic even with wicd installed as
network-manager's replacement. I am using an atheros card which also had
disconnection (roaming) problems in jaunty. However, installing wicd
seemed to overcome those issues but not in karmic.

I get a similar message to the one above when I try opening a eps file
in evince. Evince starts up with a loading animation in the top right
corner but the file isn't opened. The kernel (default ubuntu kernel) log
