Ok, did the commands.
The CLI seems to work.
BUT, the GUI doesn't work (see attached). Eventually, it states
"synchronization" complete, but the GUI is not updated with my Account
Details, nor my machine (Device) details.

Just had a thought...Can I do an additional "testing" install of karmic
(a side-by-side install) and then try the modem drivers install? Then
(and correct me if I'm wrong), I should be able to delete the testing
install when done with no harm to the primary install...
