This bug is also happening to me in Firefox (latest version, 3.0 I
believe). Basically, if I try to load the website thehungersite.com

that's really strange. I use ubuntu 12.04 and firefox just shows the
error from #comment 2 whenever I delete the ~/.cache/mozilla. I'll try
to find out what's the reason.

So, the thing is that I've removed everything from
~/.cache/mozilla/firefox/profileName/ and firefox starts ok. But when I
remove the (empty!!!) profile folder firefox refuses to start and says
it's unable to load profile.

My notebook (Macbook Pro - ATI x1600) boots when I use the modeset option but I
get a black screen until gdm starts.
Compiz works but I can't switch to a console (ctrl+alt+Fx) ... without the
option the system boots with a beautiful
console resolution (1440x900) but Compiz does not work.

gdm" doesn't show a configuration dialog

I have to agree. This is way to loud. I have tested it on my Macbook Pro (lousy

started today ... I log out ... gdm appears with a background image ...
I switch to a tty and then back to tty 7 (gdm) ... and the background
images is gone ... gdm appears with a plain black background.

I've also observed this. Over ~5 to 7 hours, caja version 1.20.2 memory
usage reaches 2.5 or 3GB on Ubuntu 18.04 Bionic x86_64.
Killing the process causes it to free the memory, and it caja is
restarted with no side-effects.

This seems to be a recurrent and intermittend problem. I have just run into it
again, installing Ubuntu 18.04 LTS Server. One one box, no problem, on the

Shortly after installation, I went into update-
manager->Settings->Updates and unselected everything except for
"Important security updates". This seemed to be the cause of the problem
I was observing (may not be the case for others). To fix, I selected

others. gcc can still be installed but it can only generate binaries
that don't depend on libc.
This bug does not seem to appear when a system is upgraded from lubuntu
14.04.
