My ~/Desktop directory is a soft link (ln -s) to a CIFS mounted share.
Normally XDG_DESKTOP_DIR in ~/.config/user-dirs is set to "$HOME/Desktop". If
I login when my Samba server is not available then XDG_DESKTOP_DIR reverts to
$HOME. If my server becomes available and I

I was having this problem with all kernel versions in 8.10 and although
it seems to be more random than predictable I haven't experienced this
bug since my upgrade to 9.04. Feel free to open close this bug and I
will reopen it if need be.

Do you know why sudo is ignoring the prompt? Is it in a format that sudo
doesn't like? Does sudo always ignore the -p option regardless if its
from pam? Could pam be setting the -p option incorrectly? Would a fix
require a patch to the sudo source? pam?

What's the latest with this bug and patch?
I think the importance of this bug should be upped since this breaks the
entire System\Administration menu for anyone authenticating using via
pam-krb5/windind and possibly others. This means most people in an
"enterprise" environment authenticating again

If I toggle the kernel's uhci module then the output stops. Attached is the
relevant part of dmesg when I run the following:
$ sudo modprobe uhci_hcd ; sleep 2 ; sudo modprobe -r uhci_hcd
This is with no devices connected the the USB ports.

This problem seemed to be related to the Intel graphics drivers. After
installing the 2.6.31 kernel from:
https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/kms
and the Intel drivers from:
https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/ppa
...everything is very smooth regardless of the number of win
I still get this in 12.04 when launching applications using Synapse. I
will get duplicate icons in the Unity launcher. Also, if I click the
unlaunched from icon it will create a new instance instead of switching
to the already running instance.

few releases of Ubuntu (Bauble-0.9.7) doesn’t work. It is patched by
the maintainer but it’s not patched very well and isn’t compatible with
the dependencies in Ubuntu. Most importantly the version of pyth
