I can't get into Ubuntu, so i don't know how to get to /var/log/dist-upgrade.
I have a dual boot, XP and Ubuntu. And at boot every time i select ubuntu, any
kernel i get an Orange screen
and the cursor and that's it.
I don't know what to do next.

i updated my from 7.04 as instructed on the ubuntu website.
The new 8.10 downloaded and completed the install.
The las step was to restart the computer.
I did that and a blank screen apeared with a orange bg.
I was able to move my cursor and that was all.

I have managed to get to Ubuntu from XP with DiskInternals Linux Reader.
I copied the log files from /var/log/dist-upgrade. So here they are.
