2nd Post). Including uncommenting the "user" line and putting in the
name of my regular user account. But that didn't do any change except
the fact

I am experincing the same Problem on karmic now.
When I am playing any sort of sound in any other application the mpd log comes
up with the message:
"output: Failed to open "My ALSA Device" [alsa]: Failed to open ALSA device
"hw:0,0": Device or resource busy" when i am hitting the Play button in
Could it be that this bug is related to gwibber the Gnome Twitter
Client? When I cancel the second password prompt, the gwibber account
options pop up, sometimes immediately sometimes after some time passed
by. This won't stop until I either type in the password or run 'sudo
killall gwibber-service

Thank you. Unfortunately 2.6.33 doesn't make any difference for me
either - on Lucid Lynx. Whereas I can confirm that the transfer rate
from USB to USB seems to be not affected by this.
