been solved. Both hibernating and resuming now work fluently on my Vaio

Simar , all VPC series defenitly include a newer grafic card - you bug is
not related to this one here!

asked to do one within 1 month - and didn't see the icon show up in the
indicator.

see screenshot attached - I've tried this on 3 different systems, it
looks like the indicator applet occasionly loads in a wrong way which
makes it nearly impossible to use it.
Workaround:
"killall gnome-panel"
which will restart the panel

same behaviour here too, on a amd64 with and withouht loaded nvidia
driver
using metacity --replace the slide appear in fullscreen too (compiz is replaced)
going back to compiz same problem.
