Thunderbird's suddenly started exiting without warning. It happens when
I'm in the middle of drafting a reply and the draft disappears. It's
hard to reproduce, it only happens when I'm drafting replies but not
always.

Yes, still having exactly the same problem with nautilus in Feisty,
probably related to more general problems with fstab and mount
commands. If I unmount the drive on the commandline, it doesn't
actually unmount.
if I comment out the line in fstab which mounts the smb shares and
do a mount -a com
Just repeated the backtrace, nautilus is exiting normally. Sorry to
waste your time, I haven't really tried it properly on Feisty before.
On dapper, it was crashing cataclysmically -- but I didn't know I
needed to install debug symbols before doing the backtrace then so
the log was probably useles

Worked it out - for anyone who's struggling, I installed the latest
HPLIP using the self-installer from sourceforge on both machines and
it's working perfectly now.

Upgraded from edgy to feisty -- same problem.
Decided to live dangerously and perm mounted the smb shares with fstab
on feisty -- mounting works fine but if the laptop gets disconnected
from the network whilst nautilus is running, nautilus crashes taking not
only GNOME but the whole system with it
Dell Inspiron 500m - adding i915.modeset=1 made it bootable and it sort
of works, but it boots painfully slowly then keeps locking and freezing
during use. Skype crashes, media players crash. It's not really useable.
i915.modeset=0 seems to be indistinguishable - just as messed up.

Same issue, Ubuntu 17.10 with upstream vanilla GNOME shell and Evo
3.26.1-1 - when opened from the message window, the composer window is
opening behind the main suite window. You have to spread the windows to
find it.

I get this error frequently and for no apparent reason. Sometimes I've

I have this problem too. On boot it's complaining it can't find rpcbind but
then it boots OK (although it loads the desktop painfully slowly) and on
shutdown I'm getting the same [fail] message as above, then it hangs and I
usually end up using the power button to turn it off. NFS is working fin
