Public bug reported:
In short, S6410 panel is too dark in Ubuntu 8.04.
'xbacklight' and 'xgamma' commands are working well, so with these command, it
changes properly. But the problem is that the brightness set by 100% is not
bright enough. it's only about 50% brightness(i guess) than it shou
me too. i have installed dapper, edgy, those two versions are all okay to
shutdown normally.
while as for 7.04, shutdown doesn't work properly. i have to press the power
button after ubuntu hangs in the blank screen reading "system now ill halt ".
is this a bug or related to nvidia driver ?
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 43961 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/43961
i have the same problem. and i am quite sure this is not a problem caused by
motherboard, or power distributor.
coz i have installed previous dapper, edgy and they all worked fine when it
came to system shutd
