I have a biostar nf325-a7 64bit motherboard with a nforce3 chipset, and
any time i try to copy data to a usb hard drive the data is corrupted
during transfer. the external drive is not malfunctioning, i have tested
it on other 32b

on a clean install of edgy knot2 everything worked fine until the upstart
package was installed, after that the computer will no longer restart. it
starts to then it just hangs and the monitor goes blank, and i have to manually
reset the compu
yes i was able to complete the installation of edgy knot 3, it still
hangs when using "shutdown -r now" and "shutdown -h now" shuts the
system shuts down fine, for some reason it only hangs when rebooting.

yes the screen went blank right after it printed that message, I'll try
disabling acpi and see what it does when i enter "shutdown -r now"

disabling acpi has no effect, and this bug is still present in the final
release version of edgy there are a lot of reports of people having this
issue on the forum has a fix ever been found yet?

i've found a temporary solution that seems to work ok on my system, go
to System/Administration/Services and uncheck the box for powernowd this
will disable cpu scaling, but it fixes not restarting the issue.

this bug was never fixed in edgy, and now it's present again in feisty
ever since herd 2 was released, it was fixed for a short time and now
it's back after the latest kernel updates. will this bug ever be fixed
in the final release of feisty yes or no, because i don't want to waste
the time waitin
it was for me to, right after the update, but after i restarted a couple
of times it's now doing the same thing again.
