I suppose the fix wasn't yet in the mirrors because I got the problem a few
minutes ago.
I've worked around it by deactivating at-spi (gnome-at-properties).
I suppose at-spi was conflicting somewhere with update-manager.
I thought I would share my finding with the community and I found this bug
