I had same issue between 7.04 and 7.10, resolved by using the iso instead. I also had used Automatix2 in the past..seems to be a recurring theme in these problems. Then again for a lot of people it is the first program they install so it could just be a coincidence. -- Broken upgrade to Gutsy Tr

I installed in safe graghics mode and it was fine. It would seem the LiveCD isn't falling back onto metacity on my SiS graphics card (laptop). So obviously there is a simple workaround of loading in safe graphics mode, but still this isn't obvious. Maybe the splash screen could provide a little mor
