I had tried the alternative cd of 29 august and the screen gets black
(graphical card i810). I attach the requested configuration files of my
installed system (upgrade to 5 of september)

Making more tries, I have found the next:
The problem arise when I boot the laptop with the usb mouse pluged.
If I boot without plugin the mouse gnome boot properly, after I can plug the
mouse and all works properly.
I guess the problem should be with the detection/configuration of the
usb mous
I think that the bug title and summary did not correspond with what is
happening. So, please, could you close the bug.
I will research more on it and reported something more informative.

In the failsafe mode the sound works properly, and I don't see any error in the
terminal. Is the output of the terminal logged in any file or it is possible to
redirect it, so I can attach here? May other information useful?

The problem seems to be worse because it is random. Last (almost) 7
times I have boot the computer it works properly. This morning it did
not work and today afternoon it boots correctly. I attach two copies of
.xsession-error; one when the error occurs and another when not.
For me it seems that gn

I have upgrade from edgy to feisty. After login in gnome the computer feeze.
Nautilus did not start (even the startup bar do not start).
I found that if I delete my user from the audio group I can login properly,
but, of course, I can not use the sound card.

After installing the PPA everything seems to work again.
Previously I had launch the unity command in the terminal.
The bug was showing every time I log in.

I can confirm that I have no problem after downgrading the indicator-
appmenu package to the one in official repositories while keeping
bamfdaemon from the PPA.

I have to correct my comment #122. Menus in application like LibreOffice
and gnucash doesn't show up. I tried with the two versions of the
indicator-appmenu (xenial repositories and the PPA).

Althougth the new version of bamf has fixed most of the problems, I still don't
have menus in for some application (terminal and libreoffice). Running 'unity'
fixed this issue. Delaying the login for 5 minutes has not fix the problem.

I update the kernel with the propose repository and the kernel team
pre-proposed PPA.
After running
"sudo update-initramfs -k all -d -v"
followed by sudo update-grub nothing appends.
I still don't have the new initrd.img files.

1) run initramfs with -o (output option)
sudo initramfs -o initrd.img-3.0.0-12-generic-pae 3.0.0-12-generic-pae
