recently bought a notebook of the mark CCE (Brazilian brand) model wm78c
(manufactured product of the company uniwill model U40SI) and when I install
ubuntu 8.04 LTS ... I discovered that it does not install, and also not run in
order LiveCD.
with several hours of searches,
I also have the same problem with the audacious to access shares samba,
even the folders are free to access. I believe that is something in
GnomeVFS "gvfs"

I can confirm that enabling / disabling the "Power Manager" application
in System -> Sessions will cause this behavior to occur.
As an aside, I disabled the power manager after a recommendation by
powertop.
