Public bug reported:
edgy-desktop-i386 CD from 10/1/2006 starts graphical boot, puts up
loading dots for /casper/vmlinux and casper/initrd.gz, then freezes
showing:

No improvement for me using daily 10/5 desktop build. acpi=off or not,
still same PCI Region error duing CDROM boot on ECS P965T-A mb; no SATA
devices present, just the two PATA drives (optical and HD).
