I have found that when I cannot connect to a secured wireless net,
removing my .kde directory and starting fresh fixes it. However, I do
kinda think that this is a less than ideal solution.

I have a IPW2200 and it works when I get my associate with WPA2 PSK
and get my address with DHCP. I don't know about the other cases.

I just tried it and found it doesn't work. However, the GNOME

Me too! Good work, and thanks for working on this issue.

Binary package hint: grub
The update-grub script always uses the absolute path for the kernel and

Here's the patch.
This adds a dependency of awk. That probably need to be reflected in the

I just looked that the debian package. It uses a potentially smarter
method of finding the device associated with a volume. You might just
want to bump up to the current version of grub in lenny instead of using
my patch. However, my patch does fix the immediate problem, and I'm not

So...does this have a chance of making it in for the Intrepid release?

When will this fix be shipped? I noticed it's still not in the current
grub package in intrepid.

Binary package hint: network-manager-kde
So, I just upgraded to the Kubuntu Intrepid Ibex and fully updated and
upgraded the system. KDE is looking really nice, but I am unable to
connect to my wiredless network anymore. My network is running WPA2. I
also tried disabling the

You know, I see that solid has some support for network manager. Is
there just some piece of software that wasn't added to Intrepid that
uses the Solid interface?

With regard to #1, I am interested in the results.
However, this does look like a kernel issue. I did a little Internet
research and I couldn't find any evidence of others having this issue.

I have a few questions:
1) Does the mac keyboard also fail to work after hooking up the USB keyboard?
2) Does the mac keyboard also fail at the console username/password prompt?
(You can get to that prompt by typing ctrl-alt-f1 at the GDM.)
3) I believe that Apple released a keyboard firmware upd
Are you using knetworkmanger? I believe the KDE 4.2 includes a plasma
applet for interacting with network manager. Try adding an applet and
seeing if you can find a network manager related one. Please keep in
mind that I am not running Jaunty and don't know if it includes this
functionality.

I'd like to chime in and say that I am experiencing this problem in

The module for the hda (snd-hda-intel) has an option called model that
allows you to specify a model name. The model name alters what ports are
enabled and how they work on the board. If you can find the right model
to give the module, the module source can be patched to fix the issue.
