Things are worse in natty...
Scrolling is totally lost again, sometimes the trackpad just locks up making it
totally useless for 5 - 10 seconds.

Jeremy Foshee, I don't believe upgrading would make a difference, as
nobody has developed a e230 driver.

My previous comment was wrong, this is still a bug in 2.6.38 kernel.
I think this is critical because: if a person closes the laptop lid then
laptop won't enter stand-by mode, thus getting really hot and a non
techie person would not notice this, probably burning his laptop.

I don't mind using 2.6.34 ('cause it works better than 2.6.35 for me
anyway, compat-wireless is broken with 2.6.35) but I think it's going to
break suspend on more laptop models than my VAIO VPCEB15EL.
Please review this bug!

Thank you. I did a quick search over the patches and seems that ALPS has
been taken into account (some commentaries in the patches for ALPS).
Multitouch support is going to be super nice, especially for the pinch gesture.
I can't wait until the day I can zoom in/out using pinch gesture in my lap
Can it be reopened?.
I have this exact same issue.
If I resume then wake up the machine, any key I could possible press
makes the system to reboot.
