The search box is focused, there's a blinking cursor in there and the
word "Search...". Clicking it does not make a difference; nothing
happens, even when I type.
It does work when runing it directly from a terminal (hmm, I should've
tried that in first instance, of course).

GTK2/3 based GUIs. Pidgin connects when I terminate Empathy to release
libpurple.

I have just installed the latest upstream kernel. Everything is working
properly now.
I gonna test the suspend just after posting this post and I'll see if I got the

This is the same issue on i386 arch.
Also, according to the other php modules existing on Ubuntu (in my case
the one installed among ming : curl, gd, mcrypt, mysqli...), the
comments are not " /* ... */ " but only "; ..."
A simple patch is provided.

in the messaging menu. However, searching through the HUD does not turn
up her name, like it did in 12.04.

as can see in the attached file, discerning one window from the other
can be really difficult with a 0px border and no border shadow, as is
the case when using light-themes with Unity 2D.

I get the same message, it does, however, work:
$ sudo powertop

As far as I know, there wouldn't have to be a discovery service. If a
user would insert his handler (e.g. vi...@joindiaspora.com), Gwibber can
deduce what the respective pod is from that and open an authorization
window.
Anyway, how this should be implemented will probably be described in the
API
