This system was working perfectly 3 months ago. I turned it off and left it off

When I came back to it and turned it on, it worked initially but then the
nvidia video card
(nvidia GeForce GT 630) decided to die. I replaced the video card with an

Following Clayton Smith's comment (69) using Mario's patch fixed the
white screen on resume issue, but now I cannot use a "blank screen" for
a screen saver. It will dim out to black, flash once, and then show a

I don't get this same problem in xterm or terminator. I am starting to
believe that it is related to my nvidia driver, but I am perplexed as to
why it happens in gnome-terminal only.

I came across this problem a few days ago. I have an application that
generates PDF's and was able to do quite a bit of testing.
First off this is not an Ubuntu specific bug. So far SuSe, Centos and
Ubuntu systems tested all have it. So it is a cups specific bug.

I can confirm this on hardy. The attached patch optimizes the case

Trying to print a certain pdf file (habit-list.pdf from
productivity501.com) on an HP Laserjet 5MP printer. The printer data
light blinks for a while and then nothing. The file prints properly
with Adobe Reader.

Unfortunately, a pdf printed report looks totally different from the
laser printed one. If I try to create a PDF, the preview looks correct
but the pdf is portrait rather than landscape.

I was using the Laserjet 5MP Postscript driver. Looks like the
"Foomatic/ljet4 Laserjet 5P" driver works. I wonder if the Postscript
driver is trying to print at a higher resolution and running out of
memory.

rpc.gssd in nfs-common 1.1.1-10ubuntu1 (hardy) is hard-coded to use only
encryption type 1 (des-cbc-crc), and thus will not work with servers
that require other encryption types, even though they are supported in
the kernel.
