I had set apport to ignore the file and I found the setting
in ~/.apport-ignore.xml. It would seem purging did not remove that file as
I expected.
Having removed an entry in there, I got the dialog to report the crash,
which I did at:

Thanks - I fiddled in the BIOS and changed on-board VGA from "auto" to
"only if no GPU in slot", and that fixed it.
I do have comment that it'd be more user-friendly (and would not caused
this report) if it mentioned something about hybrid graphics.

blank, show no results, have no filter buttons, and generally make the
computer be useless since you can't launch anything visually that's not

It happened today again after I rebooted my computer. Here is a screenshot
of them being very broken.
Note that this reboot was after Unity crashed on me so hard, that it
couldn't even restart, and my keyboard was not working _at all_.

to be killed:

I can't confirm because in Unity 3D I don't have any rotiation
options... the only available one is 'Normal'.
That's one way to fix a problem I guess, remove the feature completely
