I use Ubuntu 8.10 and have the same device Terratec Cinergy T USB XXS
I also didn't get the remote control working.
The stick itself works perfectly. It was auto initialized by Ubuntu. By
the command sudo dmesg | grep usb I got
[ 12.382840] dvb-usb: found a 'Terratec Cinergy T USB XXS' in
[UPDATE]
on Ubuntu 10.04 RC the bug regarding double click is fixed. I supposed because
kaffeine doesn't use phonon any more.
But you still have to install libxine1-ffmpeg manually in order to be able to
watch DVB.

I just have reinstalled the libc6 via synaptic. After that I was able to
reinstall successfully all three packages which installation failed last time.
I also noticed that all 3 packages was marked as "installed" in synaptic BEFORE
I reinstalled them.
Anyway, it is only RC and I'm look
Disabling the floppy disk in the BIOS fixed this problem for me too.

The bug is still present. Removing the disc and pressing enter reboots the
system. In spite of that bug the system was instelled successfully.

@ Martin. I agree with you - the package of the current nvidia driver
(195.26.15) is called "nvidia-current", so it is not a jokey issue,
otherwise, as you sad, we will have diff names. If the X maintainers
decided to call the package so being aware of that issue, then they have
had enough argument

I got the same error: Sorry, the installation of the driver failed.
Please have a look at the log file for details: /var/log/jockey.log on
Ubuntu 10.04 beta 2. More details such as jockey log file and some

Agree, asked myself a couple of times which version of nvidia driver do
I use in order to post some bug reports. In other case the next version
of nvidia will be also called current and it will be difficult to differ
"old" current version from "new" current version.

finaly I have found the right bug report about my problem :) The are too
much new bug reports about that issue.
I confirm, that inspite of the error message during the installation the
NVIDIA driver was installed and works after a reboot.
BUT after a reboot Hardware Drivers writes "a differe

I have installed and tested the last upstream kernel (2.6.34-999) as
requested. Result: the issue is not present there any more.
