in fine, it started metacity instead for me. No white screen. no compiz
running. It used to not work but it's worked ever since Compiz

In Edgy, Places->'Search for Files' is replaced by beagle.
In Feisty as of Herd 5, Places->'Search for Files' still calls gnome-
search-tool, but beagle installs a notification area icon and
Accessories->Search is shown by default and calls Beagle search, so I'm

Well, the shadow doesn't fade out as cleanly on the side as it does on
the bottom, there's a visible line and zooming in shows that there are a
few vertical lines of the same colour gray pixels before the shadow
ends, unlike on the bottom.

When using metacity with workspaces, if a window has an urgent hint (IE:
a Gaim conversation with the flashing window list entry) it appears on
all workspaces' window list bars. When using Compiz wit

Okay, it seems to be like the other line issue in that it only appears
sometimes, and it's appeared again. This time I've got better stuff for you to
look at.
I changed the background to help it be more noticable, and placed a window
nearby so the shadow difference stands out.

Closing because it works fine for me on fresh Edgy and Feisty installs
now, Liferea doesn't use bitmap fonts by default except on Ubuntu
installs sometime during Edgy development

comment and the upstream bug says "Your avatar is being uploaded, but
your server is rejecting it," so it may be about something different.
